An evidence-based, holistic approach to relief, recovery, and lasting health.
An evidence-based, holistic approach to relief, recovery, and lasting health.
Neuroplastic Acupuncture is not just acupuncture treatment, but a holistic method designed to facilitate long-term, system wide recovery from chronic pain and illness. Dr. Phillips, LAc. combines acupuncture, movement, exercise, mindfulness, and breathing to promote lasting change through the central nervous system.
These processes are rooted in the latest evidence-based research, years of study, practice, and publication. Of course, no one method will resolve every issue, so Dr. Phillips, LAc. works closely with other specialists to ensure a comprehensive network of health is available for all his patients.
Most of us live our lives as if we are running away from a pack of wolves. It's a mixed blessing that the wolves we face today take the form of traffic and work, bills and taxes instead of actual predators. While we are less likely to get eaten, our bodies and minds can't always tell the difference between physical danger and social stresses. This means that the same systems we once would have used to battle a bear still activate when a big deadline is approaching. We are in survival mode, but unfortunately we can't get out of our cars and flee traffic, and as much as we might like to we cannot fist-fight the IRS.
This conundrum leaves our Autonomic Nervous System- the system that balances us between fight-or-flight and rest-and-digest, in a state of high gear. If we can't react to the 'threat' then the body assumes the 'threat' is still there and our lives are still in danger so we aren't able to get back into recovery mode. The Sympathetic Nervous System (the Fight-or-Flight one) prioritizes our muscles and short term activity over things like digestion and balance in the immune system. This chronic overload can lead to everything from indigestion and heartburn, to headaches, to insomnia, to long-term inflammatory disorders, auto-immune diseases, and cognitive decline.
What makes this situation even more challenging is that the brain adapts to this chronic stress scenario, modifying its structure through a process called Neuroplasticity in an effort to better sustain the high-alert state. This means that even if you start making changes in your life to better manage your stress and your health the body might continue to run the same elevated stress response patterns and you might continue to suffer from the same health problems.
You might have changed your mind about your health, but you haven't Changed Your Mind.
That's where Neuroplastic Acupuncture can help, be calming the Autonomic Nervous System and stimulating Neuroplasticity in the brain we can help you get the results from the hard work you're do to live a healthy life.

His unique approach is powerfully suited to creating long-lasting change in a patient's health landscape over the course of several months of consistent treatment. Each treatment will consist not only of acupuncture, but additional wellness practices based on your personal goals. This doesn't mean that specific concerns such as pain, sleep, or digestive issues can't and won't be addressed, simply that Dr. Phillips, LAc. is not currently offering problem focused, short term treatments. If you are curious or have questions if this approach is right for you please contact us to set up a FREE Virtual Consultation today.
We also offer FREE online consultations. Book today to chat with Dr. Phillips, LAc.
